Design and Development Director

This employee will be responsible for management of the Design and Development Department, timely implementation of projects, meeting the department’s objectives, reporting on key KPIs related to the task level, as well as representing the department internationally.

Job Responsibilities

Ensuring engineering support for projects connected with engineering and development of new or existing products.

Overseeing and elaborating correct product designs and/or their modifications in order to optimize the production process.

Overseeing and coordinating the process of creating and fabricating models and drawings.

Approving Technical Product Specifications.

Initiating cost reduction ideas in various areas of production, as well as the ideas regarding reduction of costs and the complexity of individual engineering structures for product series

Supporting complaint teams and Quality Engineers.

Representing the department internationally, presenting projects, maintaining international contacts between various Asco Numatics locations.

Compliance with the procedures regarding projects in the process of implementation, compliance with the applicable legal norms.

Supervision over construction of new testing and assembly lines.

Monthly reports on indexes.

Managing the work of their team (Section of Production Process Development and Section of Designer Engineers).

Setting the objectives and development visions for the whole department, individual sections and individual team members).

Caring for continuous improvement and development of competencies of their subordinate employees.


University engineering education (preferred: Faculties of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) end management expertise (preferably MBA, studies in Management, training in human resources management)

Experience in a design engineering/R&D department (10 years) and managerial experience (at least 7 years)

Materials technology and design expertise as well as the ability to elaborate technical documentation;

Knowledgeable in the following techniques: 5S, FMEA, Lean Manufacturing, tolerance analysis, POKA- YOKE.

Knowledgeable about CAD/CAM software and, additionally, as an advantage: Creo (former ProEngineer), AutoCAD, Esprit.

Experience in work with ERP systems (Syteline, SAP etc.) will be an advantage.

Advanced English in speaking and writing.

Very good communicative and negotiation skills, ability to build business relations, perfect organization of own work, ability to work under pressure and in changeable conditions, leadership skills.

Expertise in project management will be an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

Fluent polish in writing and speaking
A letter of reference from one of the previous employers (will be an advantage)
